Getting started with Stock Screener
Stock Screener main page with sliding stocklist panel (click to open or close)
On loading there are three key work space areas
- Filters
- Results
- Stocklists
The header section has options to Open, Delete or create New screen. The Create Fundamental System generates an active screen which notifies you by email of daily changes to qualifying stocks in your filter set and maintains a dynamic stocklist of those stocks.
In the Filter section are a number of options. Along the top are options to define the currency, exchange(s) and sector(s) on which the screen will work. On the left are a number of categories which on mouse roll over bring up a list of fundamental, price, volume, and analyst projection filters. In the main screen are six default filter options which can be unchecked or removed by clicking [x]

Selecting filters for profitability
Filter settings can be edited using the slide-bars or inputted using range bars. The drop-down menu bars allow settings by currency, exchange and sector and you can screen for stocks from the US, UK, Canada, India, Ireland, Australia, Frankfurt and Euronext.
When setting parameter ranges use "k" for thousands, "m" for millions and "b" for billions. As settings change the results output will automatically update with the stocks meeting the criteria of the filter.

Sample fundamental filters
When you are happy with the results you can save the criteria using the actions in the menu bar. Previous screens can be loaded or deleted. If you wish to create an active screen it will be necessary to save your filter criteria.
The list of stocks created can then be saved to a stocklist. To do this, ensure the Stocklist Panel located at the far right is viewable by clicking the panel bar - clicking the panel bar slides out the stocklist panel.
First it is necessary to create a new stocklist (1) - stocks can be appended to an existing stocklist but you may be prompted to create a new list first if the list you are trying to append belongs to a Fundamental System. A newly created stocklist will be blank.

To create a stocklist from your results, run your filters until you have fewer than 50 results; create a new stocklist (1);
check all your results (2) and [+ Add to Stocklist] (4),
it may be necessary to select stocks from more than one page (3) and adding (4)
Next, check all the stocks you wish to add to your stocklist (2); displayed stocks of 15, 25 or 40 count can be checked before adding or checks applied to individual stocks. Click [+ Add to Stocklist](4) to append or add the checked stocks to your stocklist. Only stocks displayed on the current page will be added. It may be necessary to move to another page (3) and check all or some of the stocks before repeating [+ Add to Stocklist].
Stocklists for use in Stock Alerts or Trading System should have fewer than 50 constituents; this is necessary to reduce the monitoring requirements required for these services - stocklists with more than 50 stocks used as the basis for alerts or trading systems will only have the first 50 stocks on the list monitored.

Sample email delivered after the close showing stocks added
and removed from the active screen stocklist
governed by the Fundamental System
Our most advanced feature is Active Screening built around Fundamental Trading Systems. Fundamental Systems are stocklists which update daily after the close with the stocks meeting the criteria of the scan. Fundamental System stocklists' only use the first 50 stocks of a results output, so when designing your filters you should aim for a results output of around 30-40 stocks to allow for more stocks to be added over time.
Changes in the stock components of a Fundamental Trading System are delivered to your email address used at registration; the email contains details of stocks added or removed from your list.
Creating a Fundamental System is easy.
First step, create the criteria of your scan and ensure it is saved.
Then [Create a Fundamental System], you will be prompted to give the Fundamental System a Name. This name will also be the name of the associated (read-only) stocklist on which the active screen acts - in the future this dynamic stocklist can be used as the basis for your stock alerts or trading system.

To create an active screen (Fundamental System) first save your filters (1), create (2) and name (3).
The name of the Fundamental System will also be the name of the associated stocklist

To remove an active screen, open the screen menu and
click the remove icon from the end of the screener name.
If you decide you no longer want the stocklist to be active, open your list of saved screens and remove the active tag from the screen name.
