Frequently Asked Questions

1. How do I import a CSV Portfolio?

This only works for Private Portfolios. Historic transactions for a Strategy cannot be imported into a Public Strategy Portfolio.

Step 1 - Create a Blank Portfolio. If you don't do this your trades will append to viewed portfolio. Then create a .CSV formatted Microsoft Excel portfolio that includes the below information and columns:

Step 2 - Open the portfolio manager and create a new empty portfolio. Every time you enter the portfolio manager you will be given the option to open and create a new portfolio. Create new as per the instructions at the start of this document. Once created, open that empty portfolio (your positions and transactions should be empty). Then:
1. Choose the import button
2. Confirm the import requirements
3. Choose the .CSV portfolio you want to import

Step 3 - Follow the instructions from the Import Wizard. After ensuring your file is in CSV format the Wizard will assign each variable to a given column.

Once all columns are assigned the final setp is to Configure and Edit. Rows with incorrect data or stocks which are not available in our database will highlight in red. You can manually edit entries by selecting a cell and changing the values - although missing stocks are unlikely to be recoverable. Rows which can't be imported can be unchecked.

The final step will then import your Portfolio and load the transactions into your Portfolio

2. How do I export a Portfolio?

You can export your Positions, Transactions, Statistics, Signals or everything to a spreadsheet. The Copy function allows you to cut-and-paste into Excel; copy the required fields from Portfolio, open your spreadsheet, then use the Paste command in the spreadsheet to transfer.

3. I’m only interested in stocks from one market, how do I remove stocks from other indices?

Click the funnel icon inside the stock search bar. Check or Uncheck the Indices you are interested in.

4. I want to create a portfolio in a currency you don't list?

We offer support for major currencies as dictated by our indices coverage. You can send us a request for a given currency as we are always looking to expand our markets.

5. When I create an alert, will it show in the alerts interface?

Yes – created alerts should appear in the alert service.

6. Do you support sector or currency allocations?

In later developments we hope to offer the ability to support asset allocation.

7. Can I move columns around?

Yes, Silverlight supports the ability to change the order of the columns. Hold the left mouse button down while over a column, drag to its new location, release.

8. have created a Public Strategy portfolio, but how can I promote it?

Your Home page offers a series of tabs, one of which is for "Trading Strategies". Your Public Strategy will appear here 24 hours after you create it AND there is at least one signal generated.

Your Home page is a public page to direct friends, clients, Twitter followers etc too. Visitors to this page will not be able to view your (private) My Zignals tab. You can shorten this URL using a link shortener like http//bit.ly (e.g. http://bit.ly/fallond)

Visitors to your Home page can view your strategies and PreView them for free. When in PreView mode delayed signals are sent out in weekly summary form. PreViewers of your strategy have the opportunity to upgrade to a full subscription with real-time signals at any time.

You can use NewsStreams to post sample trades to your followers. A brief video on doing this is here (http://screenr.com/3Gv)

9. How do I earn revenue with Public Strategies?

Every Previewer who upgrades to a full subscription generates 50% of the subscription charge to you. You will need a Paypal account to accept payment and payment is issued when $100 in earnings is accrued.
